National Council of Teachers of English

The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) is devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education. NCTE’s membership consists of over 84,000 educators and more than 16,000 high school English teachers.

NCTE is a strategic partner in the Lessons from Literature program, providing direct support, reviewing content and strategy, and disseminating the program to all their member teachers.

Lessons from Literature lessons are aligned with the English Language Standards put forth by NCTE. The program is designed using pedagogical principles that focus on developing advanced academic skills. Check out the full list of NCTE Education Standards met through this program.
